This week we have been learning all about pets and how to care for them.
We started the week with a visit from Carlota’s dad who is a vet. He brought a cat with him and his vetenary nurse told us all about how to bandage a dogs leg.
We worked hard in our vets surgery to weigh out dog food and check the weights of the animals as well as writing treatment cards for the poorly animals.
The highlight of the week was the heroic rescue of Rocky the hamster. After his visit to us on Wednesday afternoon he obviously decided to make a bid for freedom and on Thursday morning poor Miss Robinson returned to an empty cage….Fear not!….Yellow class leapt into action with ‘Project Find Rocky’. Lost posters were quickly written and elaborate hamster traps invented.
I’m pleased to say that Jamie’s hamster trap did the trick and Rocky was found safe and sound in Mrs McGrath’s office the very same afternoon. Pet Rescue has nothing on the power of Yellow Class!
